The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind | Nerevar Rising (Morrowind Title Song)
I’m sad to say that I’ve never played the game (I’ve watched other people playing it, though!). Anyways. A fitting theme for such an adventurous game.
Phoenix Wright | Godot ~ The Fragrance Of Dark Coffee
This album has jazz remakes of songs from the popular video game series, Phoenix Wright. This one is Godot’s theme, a mysterious character of sorts. Very classy, very jazzy, basically a perfect song to drink coffee to.
Metal Gear Solid 2 | Main Theme
I’m running out of adjectives. Epic. Adventurous. Basically a song that makes you want to parkour over everything in sight. It’s a song that lies close to every fan’s heart, and it’s the most badass song you’ll hear against a wonderful cinematic of its time.
Chrono Trigger | Wind Scene Concert Paraphrase (OC Remix)
Don’t let the word remix fool you; it’s not a techno’d up version of the song. This is actually a piano remake of the theme that plays in Chrono Trigger during the wind scene, also known as 600 A.D. Beautifully made.
Kingdom Hearts FINAL MIX | Another Side
Again, a perfect song to an even more amazing cinematic. I just biked through campus listening to this song and pretending the people passing by me were enemies and— well you get the idea. Epic battles and defiant orchestral sounds abound.
The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony | Gerudo Valley
I’ve been a fan of this song for so long. It’s adventurous, it’s got that catchy slight Latin influence. It’s great. The 25th Anniversary remake does it great justice, making it more epic and goosebump-inducing than the previous.
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children | ~One-Winged Angel~
Basically the ultimate villain’s theme. Orchestral dissonance, eerie Latin Gregorian chanting, and sick guitar accompaniments. What more could you want?
Okami | The Tribe of Heavenly Gods’ Theme
Okami’s soundtrack/storyline/graphics were perfect. For a game that’s all about art, it definitely focuses upon all aspects of artistry in a video game. Upper gods and heavenly scenery, this song portrays the beautiful moments of the game perfectly.
Pokemon Yellow | St. Anne
Every time I hear this song, I can only imagine how it would sound if it were played on an organ or transcribed for a symphony. For 8-bit music, this is one of the few little gems that go unappreciated, especially in such a popular game.
Shadow of the Colossus | The Farthest Land
A folky song with mandolin that makes you want to just frolic through a forest or cobblestone pathway. The Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack can speak for itself when listened to; there’s no way any respectable gamer could dislike this soundtrack.
